The testimony of sister Meijen Chang from Sacramento to remember brother Nat Brother Nat is a serving brother. He followed the Lord’s footstep as in Matthew 20:28 “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Brother Nat served us through the supplying power of God and the strength of Christ’s resurrection life. His serving is tender, quiet and hidden in Christ’s love and he poured out with joy.
Once during the time of our coordination of serving the college students, brother David Wang led the brothers and sisters to Alpha House for blending. At that time there was no concrete paved road in Alpha House so a lot of dust would cover the car when driving on that road. When we came back to brother David Wang’s house in Sacramento after the trip, brother Nat asked me “Sister Chang, May I borrow your car key?” I thought he wanted to use my car so I gave him the key immediately. But he told me “That road was very dusty so I will help you change the car’s filter.” When he returned my car key after he changed the filter, he told me “I have changed the filter and I also washed your car.” This is how he served people with such care and thoroughness. Every Saturday before the college meeting dinner, he often would volunteer to help the needy students with their school work.
Brother Nat overflowed with the serving spirit of Christ in every detail and every aspect of the church life. My daughter used to meet with that college students group. When she heard the news of Nat’s passing, she spoke chokingly on the phone “Mom, brother Nat was taken by the Lord. He can be at where the Lord is to help the Lord to shepherd and serve the brothers and sisters.” Yes, brother Nat is co-laboring with the Lord in glory!
Though we were unwilling to let go of Nat who was taken by the Lord, his love and serving spirit left us a wonderful and glorious pattern for eternity.
